Folsom Lake - High Water

Posted by
Bill Brown (California, United States) on 20 June 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Captured at Folsom Lake on 6-16-11. I have been in Folsom over 20 years and have not previously seen the water level this high. With the water level this high, there should be plenty of water in the lake during the upcoming 4th of July weekend.

Is there any beach left at Granite Bay? Or just the picnic area ?!? This water looks very high to me, even after several years since we cruised up there from brother Phil's house in Roseville a few years back...Good heavens. I hope all is well at home..I sent you a note (loaded with my characteristic misspels and typos). This is a cool shot though, Bill -0 I love it - it always does my heart good to see the old stomping grounds...we had our senior ditch day at Granite Bay (Roseville High School class of 1965). :-)

@Denny Jump Photo: Right now there is only a few feet of sand beyond the picnic area, everything else is underwater.

Beautiful intense colours here Bill! The jet stream torn clouds really add character to the shot! Nicely captured! ;-)

@Steve Rice: It really has been a crazy Spring. However, Summer is right on time. We are expecting our first triple digit day to usher in Summer.
