Pipes Galore

Posted by
Bill Brown (California, United States) on 31 January 2011 in Business & Industry and Portfolio.

There were numerous stacks of pipes and tiles of varying shapes and sizes around the yard at Gladding McBean. I like this stack because it seems to go on forever and for the reflections in the water puddles. One day of shooting at the factory provided me with a wealth of good material. I captured more than 300 images so I still have a few more to share but I'm going to take a break for now, but I promise to post some more later, including some of the darkroom which I mentioned earlier. Thanks for all of the wonderful comments I have received on the series.

Amazing perspective and I like how the reflections mirror the geometry of the pipes. Well done on a great series. Look forward to more.

Maybe it's becasue I have worked in the Engineering and Construction industry for a million years, starting out working on the loadiing docks in Seattle, but I have always loved the sight of stacks and stacks of pipe like this....A wobnderful shot here and this has the additional pleasnt aspect of a lovely blue sky and tree and, as you say, the reflection too. This angle is always so cool to see....Glad you did this series, Bill, and I sure will be looking forward to "part deux" ;-) I know that whatever you have coming up next will be wonderful as always! Cheers!

This is one of the best images that I have seen with this theme...the precise, staggered organization sets the tone and the fantastic reflection make this soooo unique!! Love it!

I love the repeated pattern that is created by these pipes. And then to see their reflections separated by patches of grass adds an interesting element.
